The 2023 Coppa Allegra, sponsored by ALPINA Automobiles, took in the best that Croatia has to offer. Combining a fabulous driving experience with extraordinary hotels, dramatic coastlines and exquisite cuisine, the Coppa Allegra has it all.
The trip took us on a 5-day adventure through the Austrian and Italian Alps, through Istria and onto the islands of Cres and Losinj, with boat days, Michelin Starred dinners and wine tasting tours.
Day 1
Tuesday 6 June – The Italian Job
Day 1 of the Coppa Allegra launches in central Munich, where drivers will convene before driving out along the Autobahn and then into the Austrian Alps, stopping at the summit of the famed Grossglockner Alpine Road for lunch. From there, we continue through the Alps, along the Plöcken Pass into Italy and onto the 5* San Canzian Hotel, just south of Trieste, Italy. Welcome drinks & dinner will be served at 7pm.
Day 2
Wednesday 7 June – Island Escapades
Waking up in the Gulf of Trieste, we drive two hours to the Croatian Riviera, stopping for lunch at Michelin starred restaurant Nobilion. From here, we drive 30 minutes along the coast, before taking the car ferry to the island of Cres. A subsequent 90-minute drive with exquisite views takes us to our pitstop for 2 nights, the beautiful Alhambra Hotel in Losinj, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. In the evening, a black-tie dinner awaits on the hotel’s glorious main terrace, at Michelin starred restaurant Alfred Keller.
Day 3
Thursday 8 June – All Aboard
Tired of being on land? On Day 3, we drive an hour to the coastal village of Valun, where we have chartered various skippered Rivas and boats for the day. A morning spent visiting various beautiful beaches culminates in a lunch at a restaurant along the port. Returning to the Alhambra hotel, guests will have time to make use of the fantastic spa facilities, before reconvening for dinner at the incredible sunset restaurant Borik.
Day 4
Friday 9 June – Race to Meneghetti
On Day 4, taking the ferry back to the mainland, we head to the Grand Park Rovinj for lunch before driving to the magnificent Meneghetti Wine Hotel & Winery, an oasis of peace and quiet surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Guests will enjoy a wine tasting tour, followed by dinner at the terrace restaurant overlooking the vineyards. If that were not enough, each couple has been reserved a One Bedroom Residence, most of which have individual pools.
Day 5
Saturday 10 June – Doviđenja
On our final day, the group has a well-received lie-in before getting together for a closing Brunch at the hotel. From there, we leave you to explore the rest of Croatia, as we head home to Munich to plan Coppa Allegra 2024!
